I have 1 classroom rule, I expect it to be followed by each and every student.
Do unto others and you would have them do unto you.
This covers cheating, bad mouthing, bullying, harassing, interrupting, lying, and stealing. I firmly believe that if my students follow this rule, we will have a great year! I long for students to feel safe in my classroom, even if that is not the case in the rest of the school. I want them to feel they can come to me when they are experiencing problems, and trust that I will help them to the best of my ability. I will come in early and stay late, even work through my lunch break so that I can meet with students about problems, whether it be at home, in class, with the curriculum, etc. I really care about your kids, and I believe that they are capable of anything they put their minds to! I think they just need to be reminded of that.
